So sad to see Ricky passing from earth but know he’ll be in the arms of Jesus Christ. I remember collecting leaves and bugs for high school biology with his help.

I too am a Calvary kid who grew up with Rick. I remember his beautiful voice, and I really have enjoyed being his Facebook friend for the past few years. I am praying for Rick’s family, that God will grant you comfort and peace.

I remember going to the Shugert’s and playing with Ricky after school at Calvary. We sometimes got into trouble by taking our bikes and riding to Buck Creek and sliding down the hill to the creek. We weren’t supposed to go there. I was in awe of his beautiful voice. Guess he’s singing in a much bigger choir now. My sympathy to your family.

I was deeply saddened to hear of Ric’s passing. Our friendship dates back to our early days at Eli Lilly & Co. I will always be thankful for the fact that Ric and Carol got us going back to church at Ascension Lutheran in Beech Grove. Prayers to the family during this difficult time. Rest In Peace my friend!

I was always in awe of Rick’s voice when he sang solo for our school choir. Even though he was a grade ahead of me, we usually were in the same room as our classes were small. The first few years of our education, we only had two rooms. I had not heard from Rick for years until we “met” again on Facebook. He was such a wonderful caregiver for his wife and worried so much about her. He always asked for prayers for her. His mother was our church secretary for many years and he came from a wonderful, christian family. He can now be united with his dad, whom he lost quite early, and his mom. Blessings Rick–we will miss you

I am very sorry to hear about the passing of my cousin Rick. We spent many occasions playing together at both family homes, sneaking down often to Buck Creek, and accompanying Rick and his family to visit his Uncle Earl’s farm north of Brown County. His parents hosted a Christmas dinner for the Kritsch clan for many years, while the Shugerts always attended the Thanksgiving gathering at my parent’s home. “Hoka he!” to a fellow Navy veteran!

Like some of the others, I grew up with Rick since we were 8 years old. Our parents were close friends and we often spent weekend time together. I remember his parents and his Grandmother Williams. I often went with them to Brown County, Nashville, for Sunday dinner after church. I was envious of Rick’s “lab” under the basement stairs. He had cool stuff to do scientific studies of plants and bugs. No wonder we both majored in Biology. I was the recipient of many of his cast-off toys. We weren’t as close in our adult years, but we kept in touch through Facebook and the occasional Calvary School reunion. I enjoyed seeing pictures of his flowers. He was proud of his garden. We pray for God’s peace, love and comfort for his family. He was loved and will be missed.
